Thank you for sharing what looks like a wonderful experience. You're such a generous spirit. The pictures of the town were delightful. Such peace, such warmth. I believe you not only polished your considerable gifts, you received something that will enrich your life.

It looks like you had a great time. What did you take away from the workshop?
What did I get from the workshop...?
I shaved a year off my writing curve. And a nice credit to impress agents, producers, etc. as I work to break in.
No lasting friendships. :-(
We were all like ships passing in the night.
I stomped around Nebraska for four years when I lived part time in SD, and CO. Never made it to Superior as I was mostly in the panhandle. I thought western Nebraska was beautiful, Chadron to Scottsbluff.
There's a nice man made lake in the southern half, where a body can go speed boating or take a dip.
Lots of fun.
Speaking for myself, though, I could see myself going stir crazy if I were marooned in small town USA.
Really warm in the summer with no shade. And lots of country music on the radio.
I never asked, but I could imagine there being a lot of snow in the winter.
I'm glad you enjoyed the journal, Suzanne.

My group, The New Playwrights Foundation, just came in 3rd at the U.S./International Film and Video Festival with "Volunteers for Verdi," a documentary about backstage life at an opera group performing at an Italian restaurant in Chinatown, L.A. Travis Pike, the Artistic Director, is submitting it to a lot more festivals in hopes of securing a distribution deal.
This group as well as the one you described above are very valuable because it combines high artistic intent with generous, ethical behavior.

It sounds like your group has the advantage of having agendas that contribute to a common goal. Mine has long since parted and lost contact.
